Post a statement or story which is either 100% true, but difficult to believe, or a complete fabrication which sounds true.

The price of a 6.5 ounce bottle of Coca-Cola in the United States was fixed at 5 cents from 1886 to 1959. This was because the price was specified in a contract from 1899, which contained no expiry date.

There are many factors that may have contributed to the stable price . Supply and demand and the cost of production. The product was rising in popularity and became known to the public in the United states after the turn of the 20th. century, it was later produced and distributed around the world lowering price due to economies of scale. People had little money to spend pre and post turn of the century, after WWII the world became more prosperous. The cost of transportation became easier and products like sugar went down in cost. The sugar in Coca Cola is sourced from different areas depending on the country, some Coke is made from cane sugar and others are made from corn syrup dependent on supply and price. The cost of production may have dropped as the process was mechanized and made more efficient. There are other factors that have contributed in price increase in distribution. A small store owner told me that the soft drink manufacturers will not deliver to small corner stores ( like the one depicted in The King of Kensington ) because of weight and cost of transportation unless they buy in bulk. In time the product may have even became cheaper to produce and more profitable.

I do not believe that any person or company can make a contract to produce a product or offer a service over a 73 year period and guarantee the same price. The price remained the same due to many factors.

When Ford re-introduced the Bronco SUV in 2021 after 25 years, the marketing company Ford hired had contacted OJ Simpson and offered him a deal to promote the new Bronco over his social media, especially Twitter (he has well over a million followers). Lines such as "its my favorite vehicle to drive or be driven in on the freeway" and "I prefer the white one" were written for him to use. Needless to say, the ad campaign was nixed, the marketing company fired, and the individual who came up with the idea was canned. Ford did their very best to conceal this marketing fiasco but the fired individual went on social media to defend himself and claimed that he had the full support of the idea from his boss.

Not. He also sold most of his stocks just before the Stock Market crashed in 1929.
You are correct. It has been widely rumored he was a bootlegger, but historians have been unable to find hard evidence that he was.
