My favourite is this one:

Chickens can live without a head

True, and not just for a few minutes. A chicken can stagger around without its noggin because the brain stem, often left partially intact after a beheading, controls most of its reflexes. One robust fellow lived a full eighteen months. Likely he was a real birdbrain, however.

I heard that many insects, if well fed, can last days without their heads before starving to death - they just cant move around too much without their eyes and antenae.

What about food and water? What the hell did it do for 18 months? Did they let wander around headless for a year and a half?
