YAY!!! That fat fuck was annoying as hell. I'm glad to see him go.

I'd rather listen to HS reruns on 101.

Yeah, I heard Howard say that but later on in the week it sounds like it's a done non-deal. Bubba is now on some pay show on the internet.

I guess Sirius figured out Bubba is a legend in his own mind and he wasn't bringing in the revenue that they were paying out for him.

If you believe Bubba (and I do, he's got no reason to lie about it, at this point...) - they (Sirius) were trying to shove an 80% pay cut (from 1M to 200k) on him...

His new Internet show is pretty decent - I listen on my iPhone, through my car radio's aux port; works OK.

Bubba was getting pretty played out on Sirius - but the move to internet seems to have given him some new life - but it's only been a week... Radioio is free 'til March - I'll listen until then, and decide if it's worth the $12/mth or not at that point....

I heard the guy do an Internet Radio commercial (on RadioIO). He couldn't even speak in proper sentences!

I figure if he's that illiterate doing a 30-second radio spot, I'm not missing anything...

there is no way anyone associated with howard stern including himself is worth 1mill. maybe 80K. 100K on a good day. their salaries are outrageous.

There's a difference between being kicked off and just not renewed, which is what happened. You make it sound like someone pulled the plug during a show.

Bubba was HILARIOUS about a decade ago, during the Clearnet days and before. Lots of pranks, prank phone calls, general chatter about life in Florida and all that. A redneck Howard Stern. Then he got into wrestling and funny car racing, and it turned into a sports talk program. That drove a LOT of people away, me included. He still had funny bits but WAY too much sports talk. Are you a comedy radio talk show or a sports radio talk show? Can't be both - now he's neither.

Ummm, Howard Stern has done more to build Sirius Satellite Radio (and it is Sirius, not XM; Sirius kicked XM's ass and eventually took them over in a merger) than any other person. He practically single-handedly swelled its ranks of listeners to the point it could overtake XM.

To say Stern is worth only $100K a year is a joke. Sounds like you don't make enough money and don't want him to earn big bucks either.

Now, do I think he's worth $500 million over 5 years? I dunno. I don't know the financials of satellite radio enough to know if he brings in enough revenue to justify the salary. I wouldn't be surprised if he did because Sirius-XM would die if he didn't renew his contract. There are new emerging technologies that are better (and cheaper to operate) than satellite radio.

And so you know, I'm no Stern fanboy. But I also recognize talent when I see it.
