Ugh! What white trash. I mean, smoking when you're pregnant? Soon she will be both dumb and ugly and her boyfriend will ditch her. I predict she'll die broke.

Amen!!!
If a woman can't sacrifice 9 months of her life (quite smoking, drinking, etc.) so she can deliver a healthy baby into the world, then she shouldn't be having a child in the first place. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING WHITE TRASH!

That's what this world needs more of... babies having babies.

She isn't the only mom to be who smokes.

More than 50% of the female populous smokes....you mean to tell me they all quit during their pregnancy?

When I was pregnant with my son, I quit smoking (I wouldn't even be near people that smoked), no alcohol, no caffeine, no extra salt, no extra sugar, etc. I made my body completely purified of anything that could possibly (even a 1% chance) make my son born not 100% healthy.

Yes, if a women cannot make a sacrifice for 9 months to give birth to a healthy child then what sacrifices will she make raising the child for the next 18 years.

You know what's really sad... With people I have casually come across through the years and what I see on the news and read in the paper, I feel we have come to a point where people need to apply to have children.

That stat doesn't sound right. If it were true, we'd be seeing a lot more smokers out there!
That number is way off, only about a quarter of women smoke.

I couldn't agree with you more. We apply for licenses to drive a car, to own a gun, marriage. But to bring a human being into this world and nuture them for 20 +- years there is nothing. Problem is how to legislate something like that in.

Yup....'cause I want a bureaucrat to decide this . Give your head a shake people

So what do you think the odds would be of a civil servant granting a baby license to a current or former sp?

There is legislation, it is called the Child and Family Services Act. This is the act which governs the CAS. THere could never be legislation for licensing to have a child, that would be too intrusive in our society. But ask anyone who has had the CAS involved and they will tell you what kind of hell it is. Of course Brittney will likely have a beavy of nannies to care for the child while she does her thing.

It wouldn't be so arbitrary. Some course(s) and tests would have to be completed based on some standard of course..

As much as I hate to see bad parents have children, I am completely against restricting who and who can't have children. If we do come up with some test, it will be flawed, and many people who would be good parents would be denied the right to have children. How would this be enforced anyway, mandatory sterilization? There will always be good and bad parents, no matter what.
