Tragic, but boxers know the risks of such a brutal sport.

I was watching the UFC last weekend and saw a fighter get absolutely destroyed and face planted with a knockout loss.

Either the ref or his corner should have stopped that fight before he came out for the last round.

It was a hard watch for sure. The fighter claims to be okay and doesn't blame his corner for the brutal outcome.

But watching him get knocked out like that I thought for a moment he could be in permanent trouble. It was scary.

yet people are so concerned with fighting in hockey. Here we've discussed two sports that are fighting and the goal is to knock the other person out. Society also seems to be okay with auto racing. How many people die or get seriously hurt in auto racing???

I know it's off topic, but just sayin...

Sad but these guys are programed with the sport from a young age with the aim to be the next Floyd Mayweather and his millions...out of thousands of boxers today....you only have top 10 that could do it...

Sad to hear, but there's inherent risks in a sport where the objective is to knock out your opponent. As for auto racing, it's surprising safe. Driving to and from work is more dangerous than racing cars, partly because of the safety equipment.

In fact, auto racing doesn't even make these lists of the top 10 most dangerous sports.

Without even clicking the link and reading, they must be talking about general injuries, but when you do get hurt in auto racing, the risk of it being fatal is much higher.

How many people in the NHL have died playing hockey?

He might be able to walk, talk, and fight again yet have some form of permanent brain damage. MMA guys like Silva and Liddell and boxers like Roy Jones were never the same after getting knocked out.
