I always wondered why these two clowns killed Bosma and not the driver of the first truck they test drove. Turns out the guy was ex IDF and mentioned it. I realized if they tried to subdue him they would probably end up dead. ...

I hope those clowns fry...they think one may have killed his father to get the inheritance quicker and the other guy's girl friend has gone missing.

The accused was 27, had millions of dollars at his disposal and makes a decision like that...

I think their training is to grab just one guy when confronted by 2 assailants. Don't try to tackle two at the same time.

One of my former supervisors (a black guy) said he was confronted by 5 white guys when he was attending Harvard. He immediately grabbed the smallest one of the five and shouted: "Mess with me and this guy dies".

Former Israeli Defence Force member Igor Tumanenko who took a test drive with Millard and Smich the day before Bosma’s disappearance will resume testifying on Monday.

Tumanako told the men he was familiar with truck’s diesel engine from his days in the Israeli army.

When asked what he did in the army, he responded: “You don’t want to know what I did.” Former Israeli Defence Force member Igor Tumanenko who took a test drive with Millard and Smich the day before Bosma’s disappearance.

Tumanenko said their demeanor changed at that point. The TV reporter said that Tumanenko was an imposing figure.

Sounds like they totally chickened out.

Fry, yeah right, this is Canada, they'll be out in 10 years.

I really hope that Millard is labeled a dangerous offender. If the accusations are true he has killed 3 people on 3 different occassions. I'm no shrink but he seems like a sociopath to me. Like you say though Canada is notoriously lax to criminals. Russell Williams was not labeled a dangerous offender and he's a serial killer FFS

I honestly believe these two guys were the dumbest serious criminals ever. Think about it: they were willing to kill and made elaborate plans to do so. And yet they made simple stupid mistakes. Besides, their motive, apparently, was to steal a truck. Holy shit, I mean, wasn't there far easier ways to do that? Given that Millard had allegedly killed twice to that point, he probably had lost his sensitivity to human life and as the most powerful personality of the two, took the dunderhead Smich along for the ride.

Another amazing thing about this case: Smich is basically a loser but his sisters were/are brilliant. One of them works for Google and was once featured in the "30 under 30" story in one of magazines that runs those type of features. Crazy, to think that a family could produce such brilliance could also produce a complete homicidal loser. So sad.

This, out of everything else, is what makes me sad about this case (with all due respect to Mr. Bosma). Mr. Millard literally did not have to lift a finger, nay a finger, to live a charmed and successful life because of how his father and grandfather had set things up for him. Ya, aircraft maintenance at Region of Waterloo Airport may not be sexy. But it will pay the bills for friggin' ever. Pecunia non olet, and all that.

For Tims sake I wish they didn't. Tumanenko would have done Canada a great service snapping their evil necks. Amazes me they were smart enough to not take this guy on, yet dumb enough to murder someone to steal a used truck

Not only that they stole a used truck that was not very valuable. And killed to do it, when stealing with no killing would be quite easy... borderline retarded. Difference?, conditional discharge vs LIFE IN PRISON
