Booking Soccer Fields

Anyone have experience in obtaining season permits to book a city run soccer field?

I just chatted with city about this and this is info I got from them:

Cost .. $7.20 /hr and half x 22 Weeks
Insurance cost for season 25 players $270.00
Season runs May 1 to Sept 30

So doing the math it is about $600 with tax for the season.

It appears there are no soccer fields that are public use and free anywhere?

The reason there are no fields is those prices are so cheap. Why even charge at those rates, just book and it's free. The soccer people need to take some lessons from the hockey guys about fees for facilities.
