Hi any help would be appreciated. I have a ASUS laptop. Approx 4 years old. Getting blue screen sporadically. Message on blue screen windows.com/stop code also whea uncorrectable error. I have run anti virus. I have run disk clean up disk defrag. I have run chkdsk /r and also sfc /scannow I am not a real techy but what I have read this is a hardware problem. Is there anything else I can do short of having tore-install windows. There have been no recent updates to have caused this problem. I am on windows 10. I thank you in advance for your advice.

It could be overheating. Only use it on a hard surface. I think there are cooking pads you can purchase, or try an ice pack. I just got one from the dollar store that is about 10x15 inches and is a half inch thick.
<edit> cooling pads would probably be better than a cooking pad.

Unplug your laptop and disconnect the battery for a few minutes and then reboot.
If this doesn't help do a Refresh.
If that doesn't work do a Restore to a time when it was working good.
If that doesn't work, reset the laptop to factory state.

When does it happen? When you're browsing the internet? When you type a document?

Browsing the internet also sometimes when I am not even doing anything but never when typing a document.
I had the same problem and thought it was a hardware issue but it wasn't, I read somewhere to clear the cache, cookies the whole browser history and it stopped, believe or not. It was something that was creating a conflict.
