Have you tried Gimp, F-Spot Photo Manager or gThumb Image Viwer? I never used WINE preferring to use/learn Linux apps.

I found it an interesting read, so many valid points.

Gimp for linux is an excellent alternative to photoshop.

Well, the reason I'd hate to leave photoshop is because of how much I'm used to it - years of using it since '97/'98, very hard habit to break.
So many plug-ins and filters for it.

Know what ya mean.
Over 4 years ago I felt the same when first trying out Linux. Was so used to M$ that Linux and even Mac that was experimented with for awhile seemed so strange and unnatural. Now I am so used to Linux that M$ is starting to appear strange.

That was the best move ever made back then.
It's great to be M$ and Apple FREE!....
