Hey guys, without having to go on howardforums, which is just endless, can anyone tell me whether fido runs blackberry or the new Motorola Q.

I have a simple cell right now and want to get one of those devices.

Thanks!

sorry Mao..to use fido with Blackberry which is with Rodgers or Motorola you have to first get the phones unlocked..There's a we unlock GSM phones located in the eaton center...to unlock either one of those costs about 75 $

not quite that simple.

Fido is gsm the moto Q is cdma so it will not work even unlocked.

Fido does not support Blackberries even though tehy use gsm like rogers.

so in shopt your answer is neither will work.

i just bought an unlocked(wprks for rogers and fido) blackberry 7100 from Factroy direct.ca. it is refurbished(t-mobile from the states) and i got for 20 bucks a 2 year warranty from them. it works for the phone and text messages but in order to surf the web i nedd to get a fido data plan(which arent cheap). but the phone was. $100. and i think they still have some left.,

However, to use the web browsing/email functions of the phone you have to subscribe to Fido's data service add on to your existing account. They aren't big into their data plans so they won't tell yo about them unless you specifically ask for it. (They would prefer to send those clients to Rogers - higher $$$ yield)
definitly not a higher yield. i just saw the rates that fido ass rapes their clients for the internet option.

5MB...$25 a month
25 Mb...50 a month
50 MB...75 a month
100 mb..100 a month.

now that is just wrong.

if you look into it you cant use your blackberry for data on fido, they dont support blackberry data.
