Multi-vehicle collision in Vaughan closes Bathurst. St. and Clark Ave.

For once it's the idiot who caused the crash who ends up in the worst shape.

Almost 100 spectators are taking in the carnage at the corner of Bathurst Street and Clark Avenue, after police announced they have arrested the most seriously injured person in a multi-vehicle collision.

Police on the scene of the crash, which involves seven cars, said the driver of a gold car – which is currently resting in the middle of the intersection smashed to pieces, with both doors open – has been arrested for impaired driving as a result of either drugs or alcohol.

In total, eight people have been taken to hospital, including the person arrested, age 21, who is in critical condition and was airlifted to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto.

Eyewitnesses at the Thornhill scene said it is as bad of an accident as they have ever seen, with cars scattered all over the road.

As an example, there was an SUV smashed into a hydro pole and sitting on top of another vehicle.

The SUV has a baby seat in the rear.

Fire trucks were reportedly on scene immediately as the crash is right beside a fire hall.

York police's reconstruction unit is on scene and the force has told motorists to avoid the area, as both roads will be closed for hours near the intersection.

I walked by there after it had happened. That dirtbag caused a lot of carnage. I hope he gets his full punishment for all the innocent people he hurt.
