GTA & Thereabouts...
I'm looking to get back into MTBing and am in the market for a new bike - probably a 29 or 27.5+ hardtail... Is it worth going to the Bicycle Show this weekend? Are the savings that good? I've never been.

I was just going to pick up a Giant as that was what I've had in the past. Is it better that I just go to the Giant Store (my local shop can have poor selection and/or I'll have to order it in).

There are no great deals at the bike show. Your better off just going to a bike store. But if you want to check out the latest bikes and see some demos and shows, it's only $15 save $2 if you buy online before midnight tonight.

you wont get a deal there but you'll see whats new. I find Giant's very heavy in general for MTBing.
Your local high end bike shop will give you options, but ride them thats the only way to know.

If you're on a strict budget - check out kijiji. Because of the popularity of biking - a lot of people always want to be on the latest gear, so get rid of their old at this time. Also a lot of people new to biking (and attracted by the popularity) buy too much bike and then discover that it's a lot more work then they imagined, so it sits in the garage. This results in perfectly good fairly new bikes being sold at this time of year. A lot of them (from what I've seen) have very low mileage. Also - some stores advertise new bikes on kijiji. Just be aware of the possibility that a ridiculously low priced bike might be stolen - so when you're contacting the seller - see if they have any proof of ownership (purchase receipt, etc).
