Best whale watching in Vancouver?

I would love to get out and see the Orcas jumping around while there they're there in Oct... but don't want to waste hours and hours on a boat ride.

Anyone with good recommendations or experiences feel free to drop me a line.

Best I saw was on the ferry across to Victoria. An orca put paced the ferry for a while, up close.

I was born out there and did alot of sailing when I was a kid. There isnt one particular place where I can say your going to see more whales but If you are taking a charter boat they tend to head north toward the Sunshine coast or Bella coola. Also the Northwest side of Vancouver Island is pretty good too.
