Best Western - Customer Service

Topping a day/night that Kiarra and I had together, we had a room booked at the Best Western. It was going to be a nice romantic night in a jaccuzi suite. Key words here are "going to be." Alas, it was more like an episode of Laurel and Hardy. The water was totally disgusting in the one suite. In only 5 inches of water, you couldn't see the bottom of the tub. :(

We were switched to a different room. The water was great, but the cold water tap just spun round and round and round, until it came off. We spent about 15 minutes trying to figure out the plug to stop the water from draining and trying to fix the tap.

Kiarra was able to experience the typical "you gotta be kiddin' me" kinda times that so often happen to me. We were still able to have some fun though.

I was talking with the assistant manager about what had happened. They are still investigating what went on and is having maintenance look into it.

But, in a good show of customer service, they have offered another chance for one of their jaccuzi suites to be used free of charge.

I liked how I was dealt with on the phone. There was no hassle whatsoever. At no point did I ever suggest that I wanted any kind of compensation (although I would have eventually asked for some kind of "show of good faith".) It was the hotel that actually made the offer. It was quite funny telling the story to them. They enjoyed the sense of humour that we had about it and was apologizing about laughing at the sequence of events.

I just thought I would let everyone know about it because I think this kind of corporate behaviour should be applauded.

So, Kiarra......shall we try this again? This time bring the camera and we'll make time for some pictures.

Man, compare this to my weekend at in the Falls at the Days Inn. Sometime over the course of Saturday night, someone broke into our room and stole my (very expensive, it was a gift, I can't afford to replace it) camera.

When we noticed it as we were checking out the next morning, we naturally reported it to the front desk.

They refused to get security for us, refused to confirm if they had security tapes of the hallways, refused to give us the number for customer service (we had to get it from 411) and then told us that if *we* didn't leave the premises, they'd call the police. We had to actually drive over to the station and make a police report ourselves. Customer service on the phone basically said 'so what?' and mentioned repeatedly that they're not responsible for valuables left in the room.

Spoiled an entire weekend, and made me decide that there's one hotel chain I'll *never* use again.

Maybe I'll let wooly handle all of this kind of stuff for me from now on ;)

That's a discount? Geez, you said it would only be $50/hr on TAD. Huh....is my stock going up that much?

xarir - I hope not. Being a handy man when I'm booking a hotel room is not what I have in mind. Not unless it's part of a role play fantasy. All we had that night to fix the taps were some towels and our hands. BTW, Kiarra looks really sexy when she's doing plumbing work, wearing nothing around her other than a towel. :D

bbwmorgan - Y'know, it might have worked out better if you had run to the nearest phone booth and turned into "DOM MORGAN". It would probably have more of an affect then having lil' ol' me try it. Who knows, you might've gotten a new client out of it!! LOL.
