Hey ya'll!

So I'm having an issue when I travel....my jewlery ends up a tangled mess of necklaces, bracelets, earings, etc by the time I get to my destination. I'm looking for some suggestions/tricks/tips on how to pack my Bling while traveling. Thanks!!

Snack baggies from the grocery store, or, there are even smaller ones available at the dollar store that you could use for earrings. Bag the items individually and store in one larger bag. Voila, no more tangled mess.

Just be careful as to what you put in your suitcases these days. US Customs especially has a tendency to "inspect" bags after you've dropped them off into the baggage chutes. I've had notices left inside my luggage twice now that they've gone in to inspect the baggage after the fact - and this is a locked suitcase. Honestly, I have no issues if they want to inspect my baggage with me there, but it really aggrevates me that they do it on their own. So I'd be hesitant to leave a lot of valuables in the suitcase, and definitely don't leave cash in there!

TSA has the right to inspect the bags after you check them as well, and they will bust locks that aren't TSA-compliant.

As for jewelry, my mother in law has this thing that looks like a pencil case when all rolled up. It unrolls flat and has a bunch of compartments for various things. My wife borrows it when we go on vacations. Edited to say, looks much like the item in the post a couple up from mine.

Packing jewelry in checked baggage is a BAD idea... it shows up perfectly in x-rays and makes an easy target for baggage handlers and "inspectors".

Unless you are hoping for an "Insurance Upgrade", I strongly suggest you pack it in your carry-on if it has any value at all... monetary or sentimental...

It's just costume jewelry for a beach vacay. And it goes in my carryon. My issue is that by the time I arrive at my destination, it ends up one big tangled ball & I spend way too much time searching for matching earings & untangling the necklace-ball. Lol.

Ohhhhh... How about lay out a 3' strip of duct tape. Then lie all your stuff on it, on the sticky side. Then take another piece, the same length, and stick it down on top. Now all you bling is nice and safe! Roll up the tape into a nice little bundle. Piece o' cake. ;)
