I've heard of people buying satellites for under $200 and being able to watch free pay-per-view and cable channels. Just wondering if anyone here has any advice on where to get the best one? Thanks.

I posted a thread a couple months back asking the same thing. I wanted to get a satelite too but after further research I'd have to agree with Tung, wait a few months.
I think what you are referring to is the Free To Air (FTA) receivers.
Like a previous poster mentioned, there are changes in the signal encryption right now, so it may be a while before you can reap the full benefits.

Maybe, maybe not. The same doomsday message was said when Dish and BEV went to Nagravision 2. Sure, we were down for about 4-5 months, but everything came back. BEV has gone to Nagravision 3... true, but in reality this is a small market. When DISH goes, you can bet that the coders will be giving it their full attention. In the meantime, I'm enjoying all the channels I could hope for using my Viewsat Ultra.Tungsten said:

I head that the Nfusion Solaris works with the Bell which has already upgraded, so when Dish Network upgrades it's signal or whatever it should work with them also?? Thanks.
N2 bev is gone and N2 dish is still up abut not for long.
The new N3 as of yesterday was cracked in Europe and will soon be here. Then the priced will jump quickly. But as always it's the chance you have to take. It's not as simple as plug it in. You need to learn all about it and but some equipment to update it all the time.
