I'm planning on travelling to Thailand for Christmas, and was wondering if anyone could recommend an agency that has the best prices on flights.

Thanks.

Not sure, but I've seen cheap flights to Bangkok at Flight center a couple of times, not sure about the conditions, but once remembered seeing it there for $999, a virtual steal!

Yes, $999 would be a steal, but it must be some other time of year. I just checked them, unfortunately over Christmas they are charging $2000!!!

Still looking. If anyone has $8000 or so to spare, Air Canada has a lovely seat just for you! At least at some major sporting events when you pay the big bucks you get to keep the seat!

Chinese Travel Agencies

You need to find Chinese Travel Agencies......such as PJ's on Gerrard or another one near Sheppard and Yonge.

They tend to block off section of seats and then sell them especially for Asian clients to the Far East. You should be able to get round trip for around 1500-1600 easy.

Those Flight Retailers are just scams as quoting you rates without the taxes and then add ons.......usually double the price you see in the window.

Also if you shop "on line" there are always price sales.......the cheapest airline tickets are sold in Bangkok too...........

Its highly unlikly that you can get a direct flight to Chiang Mai....
You will probably have to go to Bangkok and then get a flight from there to Chiang Mai....

Thai Airways charges about 2700 baht (around 80 bucks) for a flight to Chiang Mai....

Cheaper discount airlines like Asia One-Two-Go will charge about 1700 (around 50 dollars).....

These are the prices if you buy them directly at the airport, probably more if you buy them through a travel agency....

You might try kayak.com as a search engine.

Still expensive.

My only other suggestion is to find a friend with a lot of airmiles or frequent flier miles to help you out with a ticket. Of course you aren't supposed to sell miles but it isn't illegal...you just don't want to get caught. (they'll cancel the ticket and cancel the acct of the supplier)

I believe this practice is now illegal in Ontario, as an advertised price now must include the taxes eithr included or beside the price.
