Was just thinking about this while watching the Celts/Pistons game tonight. Have always thought that Hamilton and Billups are one of the best alltime tandems. I know there were obviously many better individual guards at either spot. But looking at it from a tandem perspective, I'd say they are in the top 5 alltime. The only 2 better I can think of are Magic/Scott for Lakers ( I'd say they were the best alltime) and Frazier/Monroe for the Knicks (early 70's).

What are others opinions.

Jerry West and Gail Goodrich
Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars
Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker
Bob Cousy, Sam Jones and KC Jones / Sam Jones and John Havlicek / John Havlicek and JoJo White
Fred Brown, Gus Williams and Dennis Johnson
Magic Johnson and Norm Nixon

Underrated: Maurice Cheeks and Andrew Toney

Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant or Oscar Robertson and anybody! :D

I think Fisher's 33 now and retirement is probably coming soon.
What are his strengths and weaknesses and is his position one that Jose could fill?
I wonder if Jose Calderon would consider heading to L.A. if the opportunity was there because I'd love to see him playing with Gasol.:)
He's not Phil Jackson's kind of PG. Jackson likes either big point guards who play tough defence or reliable outside shooters. In addition, the traditional point guard isn't necessary in the triangle offence. They don't handle the ball as much as in most other offensive systems. Championship triangle point guards for PJ have included: BJ Armstrong, John Paxson, Steve Kerr, Ron Harper and Derek Fisher.

Fish is a very good defender and outside shooter. The only thing he lacks is the bigger size (6'4-5") Jackson likes, so the "PG" can defend bigger players.

....how did you miss Frazier and Monroe?

ESPN recently did a ranking of the top ten players in NBA history at each position....and both those guys made their respective lists....

I also believe they are both in the HOF...

Gervin also had a pretty decent back court mate while in San Antonio....lemme go look him up...(cue Jeopardy theme music)...James Silas (man...you gotta love the internet...)!!
