Not a baseball fan, but I really don't understand people getting pissed off with umpires over calling balls and strikes.
I look at it this way: It's extremely hard to hit a ball that's being thrown at you at 85-mph. As a batter, you have about 1/32nd of a nanosecond to make a call on whether or not the pitch is a good one.
Umpires face this same challenge.
