Is it easier to go through being physically attractive or highly intelligent, from the preponderance of evidence the former sweeps the floor.

Case in point:

I have a cousin who's a month younger than myself and we've been lifelong friends. Due to his David Coverdale looks he's never had a problem with the fairer sex. He lost his first wife due to irresponsibility, he lost his second wife to cancer. It took him five years to get over his grief, recently he was persuaded to give POF a try. He crossed home plate on his first attempt.

I on the other hand I have been given gift of understanding how the world works and using that knowledge to maximize by ability to earn. However my looks frighten women and I am forced to hobby.

So who's better off?

Looks, hands down.

It doesn't help that its a rich post industrial country either.

Brainwork benefits other people more than it benefits oneself, IMO.

You are an engineer. Build a bridge? Hundreds of thousands benefit. The effects are diffuse.
You? You get a few tens of thousands more in cash, thats taxed at a higher rate anyway.

You are good looking. Only you benefit.

DING DING DING!

Dumb question. What's POS?

It's a second tier dating website related to Plenty of Fish (POF).

It is where "highly intelligent" people think their handsome POS cousins have it so easy.

Me? I think POS is a shitty place to meet shitty people :biggrin1:

Typo, I did mean POF. lol

No complaints about my professional life, I'm at a point now where my word doesn't require a signature. So yes I'm fairly happy.

...and I don't get the line, "I don't date anyone I'd be embarrassed to be seen in public with" anymore.

"Reverse primary thrust, Marvin." That's what they say to me. "Open airlock number 3, Marvin." "Marvin, can you pick up that piece of paper?" Here I am, brain the size of a planet, and they ask me to pick up a piece of paper.
Von, brains are kind of irrelevant. It's all about the personality. I'm not saying you're an asshole (I am though... an ugly, smart one, and I landed a wife far, far "out of my league"), but you may not have the kind of sociability that women find attractive. Of course looks help, but your personality is far more important than your Mensa membership, and I'd even argue that it is more important than looks if you want anything more than a quickie.

Good point nobody.

I was getting good at adapting my business personality into something that was agreeable to the ladies but the car accident put an end to that. These days I'm depressed and out of shape, recovery of my short term memory is an extremely slow process and I'm smoking too much. But I am genuinely happy that my cousin is back on the beam, I don't have to look out for him anymore. When Nina passed (not real name) his step son asked me to keep on him.

And humour does help when dealing with the ladies.

Brains, looks and a 10 inch cock. That's the package that wins the prize.

Pretty faces are entertaining until they open their mouths. If there is nothing interesting coming out odds are high I have lost interest.

That said I find most men are very hard on themselves when t comes to the physical.

I was fucking this Quebecois girl many years ago in Montreal and she was telling me of how she was frightened and refused to fuck with this guy that had a huge cock. She said : " It was beeig as a beesball bat"! My trusty Excalibur has done well for me over the years, I think I will keep it. Having a huge one is sometimes an impediment.

On the matter of beauty or brains, each one of us has different proportions of each. Too much of one and not enough of the other is a bad combination.

Perhaps Insidious Von, this is one of those male - female things. Until I read your story, I was going to say that as a man, doubtless you have noticed that the better you know a very nice woman the prettier she becomes, while a beautiful woman who is a b-i-t-c-h remains such regardless of her beauty.

The mullet and skin tight black leather still kill it in 2014.
