I have been a huge Bears fan since I was a child.

After the Super Bowl last year I thought that they would do everything in their power to land a real quarterback to replace Grossman.

They have no one to blame but themselves for their start this year.

They are not going anywhere with that guy!

I'd say they have more problems than Grossman. Every aspect of their game was inept tonight. Romo riddled their defense with passing ease, and they weren't much better stopping the run. Even Hester was completely shut down. Da Bears might be lucky to be a .500 team.

FRAUDULENT???

...the Bears were exposed for what they are...another one of the NFC North stiffs....just like the Lions were exposed...and like the Packers will be exposed when they play real competition...and Minnesota and Tampa Bay???...not worth discussing...

"The Cowboys are what we thought they were... if you want to crown their asses, then crown their asses!"

Grossman, in my opinion, had taken too much grief going into this season. A first year starter quarterbacks his team to the Super Bowl and everyone trashed him. But this year I cannot defend him. They have to bench him, I'd drop him to 3rd string behind Griese and Orton and hopefully for Rex's sake, with the pressure being taken off of him, he might be able to one day get another chance to get his career back on track. He's playing like a guy with ZERO confidence and at this rate will be out of football in no time, which is a shame because he has talent and potential, he's just playing awful right now.

As for "Romo riddled their defense with passing ease" as BottomsUp said, I'm not a Bears' fan per se, but I don't agree with your statement. Romo put up 3points in the first half, then the Bears D got tired from being on the field so long because of turnovers and quick 3 downs and punt series, and opponents are getting good field position as a result. Add the injury to Lance Briggs and Nathan Vasher (plus they're already without Mike Brown), and the defense just got worn down.

The Bears defense has given up just 10 points in the first half this season, but have surrendered 48 points in the second half when the defense becomes exhausted. Of the 180 minutes of game play so far, the Bears' offense has had the ball just 78½ minutes, that's putting the defense on the field for nearly 60% of the game.

There's nothing wrong with the Bears' D that some rest and fewer injuries won't cure.

So, the Eagles & Chargers are not real competition?

Well, if you want to make excuses for their dismal performance, thats fine. I don't buy it however. The Cowboys have 3 injured defensive starters as well, so thats a draw. The Cowboys controlled the ball in the second qtr, but the half time break gives the Bears defense a big rest. The Cowboys controlled the ball in the 3rd qtr as well, but not because Bears were tired, but because they they played like shit. Even when Romo was passing on every play, they couldn't stop them. So, if they're in such poor physical condition, and can't play a full game, they have zero chance of winning their division, let alone a Super Bowl. Their defense was the reason they lost this game. Blaming Grossman is just way too easy. They couldn't stop the run and they couldn't stop the pass.
And The Packers beat the Chargers...the Bears lost to them.

But lets not just pick on da bears. The saints are totally pathetic. Zero chance of making playoffs. Vince Young beats Reggie Bush again.

I couldn't care less about making excuses for Da Bears, just pointing out the facts.

They can have 12 injured starters, who cares? I wasn't making a comparison between the two defenses.

So, if they're in such poor physical condition, and can't play a full game, they have zero chance of winning their division, let alone a Super Bowl.
I agree.

I hate these "arguments". They prove nothing. The Texans beat the Colts last year, so they therefore should've been considered the true Super Bowl champions? The Chargers will beat other teams and they'll lose to someone that another team beat. Same for the Pats and Colts and every team. It means nothing.

But lets not just pick on da bears. The saints are totally pathetic. Zero chance of making playoffs. Vince Young beats Reggie Bush again.
Bears deserve to be picked on. Lovie Smith has to recognize Grossman isn't cut out for the job, at least not at the moment and until he does, he should be held accountable. And can someone please explain to me why Thomas Jones was traded?

You were using injuries as a reason they played poorly. I'm simply pointing out that cowboys had 3 starters out as well. So neither team were at full strength defensively. That puts them on even footing from an injury standpoint imho.

Yes, but the big difference is the Cowboys were facing the Bears' offense. If the Bears "D" was facing the Bears' "O", they wouldn't score a single point. Plus I think a couple of the Bears' defenders would enjoy teeing off on Rex. :D

Any defense, anywhere, will give in eventually if they are on the field on night

Chicago's biggest problem, not having sustained drives eating up the clock and resting the defense

switching Grossman for Griese, I know Grossman has not been doing good the past 3 games. But he still is going through the young growing pains and he just might be a late bloomer. I know the Bears don't really have time for that but i think the kid deserve a bit more opportunity to redeem himself. Plus Griese is crap in my opinion, he has not established himself anywhere he has gone and i really don't think they have a better chance of winning with Griese compare to Rex.

With a QB rating at 45...

...you might as welll throw a varsity QB in there...Grossman is on the top 3 list of worst starting NFL QB's IMHO..only 2 possibly worse...Joey "Blue Skies" Harrington in Atlanta...and JP Losman in Buffalo..

I agree but for his own good, he needs a mercy benching. This might be a blessing in disguise for his career.

Well, they got smoked again. In the fourth quarter that is. Detroit scored 34 points in that quarter alone...

Bingo!!! This is the main reason why Chicago blows. Everybody always wants to blame the QB. Personally, I've never understood Bears management's fascination with Grossman or what they ever saw in him but the bigger mistake was letting Jones walk and assuming Cedric Enis was ready to be the starter RB. This guy is horrible. Not quick. Not shifty. Does not run with authority despite being big. Curtis Benson is a bust. Jones was a playmaker.

Can you say 1-4???

..cause that is what the Bears will be after they get destroyed at Lambeau next week..

The Bears are one of the biggest flops of the NFL so far...along with San Diego...

...guess both these teams are fraudulent...
