It looks like the human steriod factory will be playing tonight
I guess his knee has heal from the degenerative affects from steriods & his system has been fully flushed out of the BALCO vitamins  he has been receiving-he's records should NOT be recognized & should NOT be inducted into the Hall of Fame when he retires
If you bleeding heart doubters think im being rough on Barry-compare the way he looked on his 1987 Fleer rookie card compared to what he looked like last year.
I wonder what he looks like steriod free supposedly

Man I agree. There is enough evidence to cast serious shadows over his sudden surge into the power game whie he got older and older...his trainer, his own testimony, BALCO, etc. If they are serious about cleaning up baseball, they need to wipe out the No. 1 offender who made a mockery of the long standing records with the juice. HIs records should be wiped. Real commissioners would do it...too bad there are none left.

someone needs to Nancy Kerrigan this guy and end his sham of a career before he gets anywhere near Hank Aaron's record, he is just getting to the point where everytime I hear his name mentioned on tv, radio or paper I have to turn away.

You guys are morons. HOF numbers are relative to your peers. Barry Bonds is so much better than his peers that he has to go. Just check his OPS numbers and consider how many more homers he would have had if pitchers weren't walking him a record number of times. This thread is a bunch of puritan idiots who have no clue that athletic talent should mean more than phony baseball ethics when considering HOF eligibility since everyone that is anybody is juicing anyway.

solitara, i somehow doubt that people like Hank Aaron was juicing as you claim that "everyone" is doing it. I think he got his strength from hauling ice as a kid. I dont see how you can equate athletic talent with cheating. Although steroids has been illegal for a while, it has only been tested recently in MLB.

Whie you call us idiots, you should know that most of the HOF members (already voted in) think that Bonds shouldnt be in if he used steroids.

Hank Aaron wasn't juicing but you can't compare numbers from different Eras. All you can do is compare how much better an athlete is with his peers he plays with. Barry Bonds is better than Hank Aaron period. In his best years when everyone was/is taking steroids he is head and shoulders above his peers. Hank Aaron just played for a long time but he was far from the best athletic talent out there when he played. Longevity is overrated; being great means you performed at an extremely high level relative to everyone else you played with for a period of time that could constitute a career. Hank Aaron did that but Bonds did that way better.

PS - I meant "everyone" in today's age of baseball.

Absolutely...I think anyone over the last 20 or so years where there is evidence pointing towards juicing should have their records striken. That includes Sammy, McGuire, etc. However, those who juiced after baseball made steriods explicitly illegal should be more strictly looked at. A cheat is a cheat. Doesnt matter if it involves corked bats, sandpaper to file baseballs, etc...those "numbers" obtained while cheating should be addressed.

I say let the HOF members vote (peers if you are a HOF candidate) instead of the writers and we'll see a lot of candidates passed over based on their cheating ways.

Yeah, Bonds is the best of the last few years but he still cheated. It doesnt matter if a lot of others cheated too, they shouldnt count either. It's like saying an American Idol winner should go to the Rock and Roll hall of fame because they happen to be the best of a particular sad grouping. Clean up baseball!!
