They are still investigating

"This is a good start for us to conduct further investigations for other victims out there. There are still victims out there that we are trying to assist in Barrie and across the province," he said. "It takes time to build trust with someone in the sex trade, and Const. Jansen's approach was such that the victim felt very comfortable providing more details which lead to the arrest of the accused."

McLean said the woman is in a safe location and getting assistance, but there are many more women waiting for their chance to escape.

"It is a continual basis that is being investigated," he said.

I think it is a great idea! Quite honestly, I see ads on BP for girls 18 and 19, even 20, and I wonder if they really want to be doing this and then I see recruiting ads guaranteeing $200 per hour or $5000 per week. I'm sure that $$$$ attracts the attention of many young girls and from that point, there is no getting out!

I think it's a good thing to go after the people that force anyone to be in this business but I also think the police need to realize that other ladies including myself absolutely love being an escort :)

Good point, and often lost in the media.

In the article this caught my eye.

"Throughout Jansen's investigation, she routinely shed her city police uniform for meetings with the woman, who initially told police nothing was wrong."

Stripper cops in Barrie?
