So you want to go for a spin, but darn it: no steering wheel. And two flat tires. What do you do?
Well, if you’re a reckless young man from Northfield, Australia, who is battling a suspected meth addiction, you simply grab a pair of pliers and hit the road.
Police in South Australia encountered this very incident during rush hour Monday morning, when they stopped a white Holden sedan they observed driving erratically, according to SWNS.
When the car was pulled over, police discovered there was no steering wheel, two blown tires and the driver was using a pair of locking pliers clamped to the steering column to manouevre it.
The car was also unregistered and uninsured and had been involved in a hit-run crash just minutes before it was pulled over, police said.
A 38-year-old man is facing charges including driving while disqualified and returning a positive drug test. The Daily Mail reports that he was found to be driving under the influence of marijuana and methyl amphetamine.
