Backpage now requires BitCoin for all ads - Goodbye to the legit ads

Backpage is now only taking BitCoin for escort ads. Most girls can't get a credit card, let alone figure out how BitCoin work.

Prediction? The only people to work it out will be the people behind the fake Asian ads that have recently made BP pretty much useless. This will likely push 90% of the legitimate girls off BP, as they won't be able to get a BitCoin wallet. Basically, it's goodbye to any legitimate postings on BP anymore.

Maybe that's not such a bad thing, if there is a need for an advertising site something will fill that void. Maybe it pushs more of the legit ladies to the boards and even if the asian spammers follow them they can be blocked and put on ignore. As they say, the only constant is change.

bitcoin isn't hard to get, its annoying.
Whoever the people behind those asian ads are, may be too lazy to use bitcoins, Too lazy to make interesting or real ads, or hire actually attractive women.
Though looking through the non asian backpage ads and reading many comments on the boards, I can see alot of the flakes,scammers, and other shady folks to disappear. Then again bitcoin is linked to some shady stuff too.

I just want all those Brampton, Mississauga, and other distant ads to go away. If I'm travelling to those places, I'll check the appropriate sections. When I look at Durham, I would like to see who is available IN (or very near) Durham!

Use the backpage search feature - it will filter the results pretty effectively

The trick I've used lately is to use the search feature and type in Oshawa or Whitby or Pickering. The spammers just check off 'Durham Region' on the Backpage submission form, while they usually write into the ad the name of the city they are in. Few girls in Oakville or Brampton will put in the extra effort to list Oshawa or Pickering. So the search typically filters out most of the girls that aren't local, hopefully without filtering out too many of the valid ones. :thumb:

Between people in Mississauga and York dual posting in Durham, and all the fake Asian ads, BP has become an act of frustration.

With Bitcoin, the communication between BP and the Bitcoin exchange can be flaky, making it seem like the transaction hasn't happened. Then you end up trying it again, and then again, and it seems like nothing has happened. Then you go back an hour later and your Bitcoin wallet is drained, and you have 500 ads posted. Certainly when you see a girl who has posted 6 ads in a row, that's probably what happened. But I do see a few girls carpet bombing more out of desperation than anything else. It's not necessary. Guys are pretty good at scrolling back a page or two and figuring out who has posted in the past day or so. Four ads on the landing page of Durham Region isn't needed.

Boy was I wrong. I thought bitcoin would help with the crazy amount of ads in Durham Region previously. Just checked BP out and now it's a zoo. This has got to be bad for business. Not for the competition but who the hecks gonna have the patience to go through so many repeat ads. Insane. Backpage should not allow advertisers to post in out of town/city locations. Especially if an hour or so away. Who knows just my opinion.

i think the main problem is bp corp. that lower the posting cost. like $1.00 per post as suppose to $10.00 per post before. so these Asian ads are taking advantage of it by posting 10X or multiple posts. that flood the bp classified escort section. bp needs to make money so, it will allow advertiser to post as many as you can to make up the revenue lost.
As matter of fact, this could potentially have great outcome. fresh blood comes to the market might not want to have bp bill once every month showing on their credit card statement at home for family to find it out. they already use pay as you go cell phone, why not bp ads. yes it is a bit hustle right now, but soon some one will figure it out and make this transaction easier.
