Hello all,

Here's the non-techie asking techy type questions again.

I want to burn a data DVD rather than a CD so I don't have to have as many discs lying around. I tried doing it through the windows explorer on Windows XP but it would not work.

Any free software out there that would do the job?

I have roxio mydvd9.0 but I'm just getting to use it for my family videos. I'm currently copying it to my HDD

Will it actually copy other data files for a direct burn, or is it only for video creation?

If you are just looking for a program to burn data files to DVD (and CD), check out the open source InfraRecorder. Do a Google search for it and you will find it no problem. It's a free download, I use it and can recommend it. It also comes with a nice and simple disc copying program.
