I know someone who will be shortly moving into a building with an autoshare car on site. However since there is only 1 car for the whole building they want to wait and see how heavily used it is. It sounds like a good idea but personally I worry that you can never get a car when you need it.

A friend of mine might join up as she doesn't need a car for work. She just wants a little more freedom to be able to drive to Ikea, get groceries or whatever whenever she pleases. I think she's looking at using it 3-4X a month.

I've wondered about auto share. It seems like a good idea. I'm kind of addicted to the convenience of just jumping in the car and going. Even though I only put on about 10,000 km a year, I'm not sure auto share would work for me. I believe with auto share, you have to book in advance. I think you are also limited to 24 hour rentals, so you can't take off for the weekend. But it sounds to me like it would work well for some people, especially if you don't mind pre-booking. It sounds very economical.

one thing though, its $25 or $29/month and 15cents/km....is the 15 cents extra or is it how much you're paying per km when you pay $25 per month? i'm asking this because it says you can drive as often as you like.......i'm car rental/share illeterate as i've never dealt with rentals.
