My CAA membership is about to expire.I do a lot of driving and need the coverage,in case of accident , breakdown, etc., but I don't use the other services.
Anyone have an alternative?

I have a gold visa. The charge but for less than the cost of CAA i get towing and other stuff as well. Towing is in a lot of higher end credit cards.

i always find trying to get anything from these Visa insurers almost futile. Stick with CAA.

We have Gold Visa, it is very good. They are not too picky about whose car it is, as long as my wife is in the parking lot they will jump / tow the car of anyone she knows. And it gives a 1% cash rebate, which more than covers the annual fee, at least if you spend enough.

It depends on how big a spender she is. Our card is $300 per year, I think. At 1%, that is $30,000 of spending in a year and then all the tows and boosts are paid for. If you put gas, restaurants and groceries on the card, that is a good start. Her spending and mine get combined for the rebate, and we can both use the auto club, but only pay one annual fee.

My wife can't handle credit cards. She has no concept of how to use them. She is not a stupid person, just can't handle credit so we won't tempt her.
I am leaning toward the CIBC club.Would like to hear a few opinions on it.
