She tells the white guy that he is pathetic because he can only get a gook for a girlfriend. Mocks her and asks why she's even in the country.

Not too long ago, this was not unusual behaviour, and tolerated to some extent by society. Today it is unacceptable. You can hear the gasps from the other passengers as she humiliates the couple.

This exact thing happened to a friend of mine. On a train, a woman openly mocked the way he talked (he is Vietnamese).

The strangest people always seem to be on public transit. This is why I always make an effort to go all the way to either end of the cart when boarding, never in the middle. This is also why I never take public transit with a date.

This is absolutely astounding. That crazy bitch has no shame and is quite comfortable making an ass of herself in public. It's good to see the others on that train calling her out for her behaviour, but she just does not get it...

Wonder considering the climate now if she might actually be mentally ill or challenged.

Tough to see someone doing that to a random stranger without cause.

Not condoning it but anytime I see someone loosing it on the TTC it's either substance abuse or mental illness at work.

She lived all her life in a world that was apathetic to this type of behavior. She probably live among " her own kind " her whole life. Political correctness has taken over. Just as Toronto the Good was 98.5% white in the 60s, 70s, and now has turned ethnically diverse so has Australia.

A couple of comments - not excuses.

a) It is hard to truly understand what is going on.

b) I note that the woman is standing up - this often escalates these sorts of situations.

Further proof that ignorance and racism has no boundaries.

The one thing I find a bit strange about this video is that they were recording her phone conversation long before she showed her true character.
Why would they be recording that?

No, the video clearly shows an altercation with two other passengers (the lady and the young black guy). The guy is video taping that incident. Then she notices and attacks his girlfriend.

Looks like children were sitting in seats and she felt they should be standing (to my mind depends on how old these 'children' are five year olds - get over it woman, thirteen year old boys - didn't your parents teach you any manners.

She is talking to someone about it on her cell phone - talking on the cell phone on the train :yell: Talking about private things in public :frusty:

I still don't quite understand why she and the other woman who is standing get into it.

Didn't realize Trump supporters made it down to Oz lol. Ahh scenes from the old country. We had Sarah Palin before the Americans did (she's known as Pauline Hansen in Oz) so these folks always existed. But her 'comeback' is racist appalling to most of us, but to her generation she probably thought she was being witty. Her line about his dick not being big enough for an Aussie girl was a bit harsh too (but on her wit scale higher than mocking Chinese accents and doing the 'slant eye' pull back maneuver made popular by low IQ kids from the 1970s.). Terrible thing is she probably went home that night and was proud of putting 'those people' in their place...only when she started seeing her face bandied about as an example of an idiot racist did she have a second thought and produce the apology. You do get much less of this stupidity in the big cities - Newcastle is coal country in Oz and not nearly as diverse as sydney or melbourne or perth or even brisbane or adelaide.

What is it about the most multicultural countries being labeled as racist?
That's a valid question. The more multicultural the more accusations of racism.

How often do you hear of Iran, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, etc. being accused of racism?

ALL the time.

In the middle east, Asian (Indian, Pakistani, Bengali, etc) workers are treated like garbage.

Indians and Pakistanis hate each other. Even among Indians, darker Indians are looked down upon, and whiter ones are treated better. Then there's the caste system.

As long as there are different people living in the same country, there will always be bigotry.

The only exception may be Brazil, where, from what I understand, dark skinned people are not discriminated against.

Wrong. Brazil is actually one of the worst in the world. Did you not watch the olympics? They did feature stories every week about Brazilian athletes who are black being discriminated against in their own country.

Australia? Many might forget but it is only 40 years since their government finally abolished the White Australia policy. That is the country this woman grew up in. I severely doubt mental health is involved; her anger likely made her say things she feels but usually wouldn't express in public.
