The basic conclusion is that the whole green energy policy is incompetence on a grander scale than even E-health and economically has a far greater impact on future generations.

Among the findings were:
  • normal due diligence not followed1
  • no economic analysis performed prior to signing deals
  • Samsung bonus cut to $110 million only after AG got involved
  • green energy actually cost jobs in other countries as infrastructure jobs are temporary and increased power costs cause jobs to be lost
Just a few of the litinany of incompetence that was recently highlighted by the oakville gas plant fiasco. For more read:

why cannot we get these audior general reports before an election? at least we have a minority govt and this can be used against them.

it also reminds us how lucky we are to have rejected smitherman as mayor. fuck what a mess he could have created here.

It was no more in Mike Harris's interest, nor Ernie Eve's than in McG's to have the auditor point out the books weren't balancing. Which is why they left that unfixed. Try voting with brains, rather than party biases, and we might have a chance of getting an honest realist in government someday.

Meantime we've got years more of fairytale-believers and liars at City Hall to endure. So far, even though the previous adminstration ran a surplus, we're getting service cuts, and a tax hike even though he promised we'd have neither 'cause gravy would pay for it all. And still no subway plan, nor any idea how he'll get his buried LRT over the Don Valley. Or buy the buses even his reduced TTC will need.

But there is a City Auditor; you could ask the Mayors Ford to make sure his report precedes the next election. Had he reported the budget was in line for surpluses, would Rompin'Robbie have had any platform at all?

There is a lot of other very embarassing stuff in that report as well.

Like the government giving some insurance companies higher rate increases than they asked for!

Or the LCBO telling some suppliers to charge them more for some types of wine.

Very poor stuff.

Your response to a critical report about the province is to talk about the city?
That's a bit pathetic and puts you in the same class as iamme who can't bring himself to address the obvious because its critical of something he is brainwashed to love regardless.

As opposed to Mayor McCheese's messes??
Focus there iamme. We know you can do it. Perhaps if you spit out the gum you can concentrate enough to remember the topic is provincial government and that a suitable excuse for poor performance is not someone else's performance at a municipal level.

This is what happens when governments put politics ahead of good governance. These types of blunders come right from the top, this isn't something you can pin on the bureaucrats.

Actually a fair bit of it can be nailed on bureaucrats. The head of FSCO, the head of the LCBO and so on...
