No, I think this is a full out sale of his entire interest.
If what I have heard recently is true the NBA has another case of owner racism brewing.
He isn't a 100% owner...but he is the controlling share holder..so he is selling his share in the team
and yeah it was because of an email he sent 2 yes ago.with.apparent racial overtones
oh political correctness?...ya mean like hiring a couple of white girls as cheerleaders, or playing more Kenny Chesney instead of hip hip to attract white customers...........racializing an issue because he is not getting enough gate receipts..ie $....that kind of PC.?...or is this your knee jerk reaction to his email, that you may or may not have even read........

No....he is taking his losses and running. Not a bad strategy.
problem was..the Hawks were not selling tickets. Truth was...not enough affluent blacks buying tickets....in fact the demographics suggested not enough affluent blacks..period.
so..in a marketing drive....he made suggestions to get Way from hip hop music....and other marketing strategies that might attract more white ticket buyers. Simply marketing trying to influence sales.
this is no different than at election time...identifying the black vote...the Latinos..the women .....and target marketing to them.

so again, to sum up, you really believe that an intelligent, business savvy rich guy has to concoct a racially charged scenario to weasel out of ownership.............if thats true then the guy is a sleaze ball
but you try to have it both ways by also saying he identified low turn out by intimating that whites stay away because of the preponderance of blacks and by pandering to whites with white cheerleader eye candy or "white music" .... that,s condescending, not marketing..................
I did not say what your were stating above. He was trying to lure more affluent white ticket buyers. You do not do that with hip hop music.

can we say, with certainty, that affluent blacks prefer hip hop, or maybe they prefer Bruno Mars?...should ownership then , instead, pipe in some mainstream R&B...to attract affluent blacks....................
Ogi...you seem angry..causing you to miss the point!! I'm not sure what blacks listen to....but marketing folks had suggested a music change. Smart people. Mixing it up a bit.
there were NOT ENOUGH affluent blacks in the Atlanta area. That market was tapped out....so the decision was made to try and lure others.
this is not a hard concept. No different than on BET television...certain commercials, certain tones, certain music is played!!!!
marketing means you work the crowd you are trying to attract.

Shoe #2 dropped. Hawks may be looking for a new GM along with a new co-owner. Maybe they can kill two birds with one stone and have a Jerry Jones type who insists on doing both.
