At party with hot girls who say "How do SPs get any business in contemporary Toronto"
True story
So I am out in Toronto recently at a party with co-workers (girls from the admin assistant pool). A group of hot young things are throwing back drinks at it is 1am and we are talking...me, another guy my age (we're not from the admin pool, but that is where the hot young girls work) and 3 hot girls around 22 years old. Talking politics, etc. I'd had a few single malts myself lol.
So one hot girl says out of the blue "You know, I don't see how prostitutes in Toronto make any money or get clients. Ok, before, like, 1960, I can see how they would get business because girls back then were all like 'marry me or no sex for you', so sure, prostitutes had business from guys who wanted to have sex but weren't married. But in contemporary Toronto since the 1960's, girls are perfectly willing to have casual sex with guys. So my question is, why pay to play when you can get it for free?
I then say: (Directed to girl 1) "OK, you're hot, let's go back to your place and have sex"
Girl 1: (pause) Um...ha ha, well, I don't know you very well and I came with friends...
Girl 2 (one of her friends, age 21): But...you're, like, over 35...how could we, like, have sex with you if you're that old? We're like 21 and 22.
Girl 1: It's not your age, its just it is late and I go out to dinner with guys first, you know, and I don't know you.
Me: OK, let's go out to dinner one night - when are you free?
Girl 1: Um, well, I am kind of busy the next week and a half, but I could go out to dinner with you after that, yeah. I don't sleep with guys on the first date though, so don't get your hopes up about that - it would just be dinner to get to know you more.
Me: OK, so its a date. But you were talking about sex before, so if you have a nice dinner with me, when do you decide about sex?
Girl 1: Well, if I enjoy getting to know you, maybe the next time we go out it could get sexual, but that would depend on a lot of things, my mood at the time, what else was going on in my life, and stuff. Also I wouldn't go out with you a second time if I didn't have a connection with you at the first dinner.
Me: So if you do agree to go out again, it means you are OK in principle with having sex with me?
Girl 2: (laughs and tosses back another swig of drink). Getting ahead of ourselves are we?
Girl 1: (smiles) Um, well, in theory yes, if I went out with you like a week after the first date, then I wouldn't be opposed to having sex with you, in theory, but that doesn't mean I will have sex with you, just that I'm not opposed to it. I can't say when or even if I would have sex with you, 'cause it would depend on my mood that day, maybe on the second date I'd be in the mood, but maybe I wouldn't be. Of course I have to be in the right space and sense of self to have sex. The stars have to be aligned the right way and stuff. And you'd need to get a better haircut though for starters - that style is so not working for you.
Girl 2: (to no one in peticular) But he's, like, over 35...that's ick.
Girl 1: (to girl 2) My aunt married a guy who was like 36 when she was 23 - he's not, like, really old...yet. He's still a contender.
Me: I thought you said didn't want to get married and this was all about casual sex?
Girl 1: I don't want to get married. I mean, I don't now, but will one day. I wouldn't have sex with a guy who I totally couldn't see myself marying though, even though I don't want to get married now - you have to be at least a contender, or else what is the point of even going out with you in the first place, let alone having sex with you?
Girl 3: Wait a minute...do you want to have sex because she is like, 22 and attractive or because of who she really is?
Me: I asked because I think girls your age are attractive, and to prove a point she made a couple of minutes ago.
Girl 1: Oh yeah - my point that there is no need for prostitutes in Toronto because guys can just have sex for free with attractive girls whenever they want with no strings. So you agree with me then, that prostitutes can't make any money in Toronto in the post 1960's world?

Girl 1: But why, when it is so easy to have sex in Toronto with normal girls?
Me: So when is our first dinner date? (taking out my PDA) Two weeks Friday?
Girl 1: Um, yeah, but don't put in in for sure as I have to check what parties I have on that week. I'll e-mail you when I know what works for me, I have your e-mail, so I'll e-mail you in a few days and let you know once I know.
Girl 2: (To girl 1) Don't forget you are going to my party in two weeks.
Girl 1: (to girl 2) Yeah, I'm def going to that.
Girl 1 (to me) I have to work it around other commitments, of course - but we'll have dinner sooner or later - I'll e-mail you. (when she sobers up, I won't be holding my breath for that e-mail)
Other guy: (to all) So, is he getting lucky?
Girl 1: (laughs) Who knows? Maybe, maybe not. I can't think that far ahead.
Next day Alex calls Mirage for a date...hot girl, 21-22, I want 3pm today - who's on? She is? Good, book me.
Now I'm not saying relationships aren't good, or that marriage isn't good - both those are good. But when it comes to casual sex, SPs are good too.
