Can't remember the name of the resort I went to but most there are fully inclusive. Fantastic beaches with fine white sand and tourquoise blue warm ocean. Since Aruba is out of the hurricane belt they don't ever have to worry about that. Mostly sunny all the time with cool breezes from the trade winds. Lots of casinos and upper class restaurants. One thing different from the other Caribbean islands is there is very little poverty. Aruba is owned by Holland and you won't see much slums.

Stay any place other than the Holiday INN, didn't stay there, but looks pretty shaby, and have heard uncomplimentary things.
Excelent island, as others have stated.
The only negative I have found is, poor snorkling,...and I mean the ocean type !!!

Aruba is great!...people are friendly, the food is very good and the island itself is exactly what you want in a resort vacay...always hot, with white sandy beaches....Baby Beach is a real cool place to check out if you can...you can walk into the ocean about 400-metres,stomach high...then it drops to almost a 60 ft drop!! Casinos are fun, and if you're looking to buy jewlery or high end fashion ( they have a mall there that is much like Yorkville) , Aruba has great prices.
You`re prolly right, but I got the flight for under 5hun return and used travel bank, can easily hang out for a week and do very little.
Why not go to Miami instead? It's a real city with real things to do.... Not some manufactured fantasy..

There is a low rise hotel area (Eagle Beach) and a high rise hotel area (Palm Beach).
I have stayed in the Palm Beach area. Several outstanding hotels and restaurants.
Texas de Brazil is there, Iguana Joe's for ribs. There is a piano bar (if you like that) and there is also a Hardrock there as well.
Beach is superb!

Now I`m intrigued, where would I stay, what area, would like to be right where the action is.
Been to Aruba many times and absolutely LOVE it!! The weather is usually very consistent and that's HOT! VERY safe, clean, and no poverty like many of the other islands down there! Out of the hurricane belt too!
