Are warranties honoured if bought off ebay?

I'm thinking of buying an xbox 360 off ebay. If something goes wrong with it, is the warranty any good?

You'd need the original receipt, I would think...

Its only as good as the seller who stands behind the warranty.

I also think it depends on the manufacturer, I know dewalt will warranty their tools no matter where you bought them.

With that being said however I know that many won't honor a warranty on a product unless it is purchased from an authorized retailer. I have to ask: will the purchase be made from the US and be brought into Canada? I also know that many won't honor warranties for items bought in other countries. In these cases you have to send the item back to the repair depot in the country it was orginally purchased.

You can also purchase warranties from ebay/paypal and if you use a credit card they often have warranties as well.....

I'd be buying it from a seller from Canada, he said it would come with a reciept but not sure if he meant the paypal reciept.

Yeah, he meant a paypal receipt.......because if he had a store receipt wouldn't he just return it to get his money back?

I bought an item from Panasonic in the US a few years ago. When it stopped working I took it in to the Panasonic Repair Depot here in Toronto. They had one look at the serial number and told me sorry, US warranties don't apply in Canada.
