Well, well, well

It was inevitable - the prodigal son returns to TO. The Nets could have flown in today but decided to stay in Jersey. Management relized the scrutiny their new "star" Wince Carter would have to endure and decided to stay home today. They'll be coming in tomorrow morning.

With his return - should or would the fans of TO boo Carter?

I get the impression he'll probably drop 30plus on the Raptors but God willing I hope the Raptors win this, just to tighten NJs playoff screws.

I personally think that as a paying fan, I would boo him. Short of starting a riot or impeding play; I think the fans are entitled to their say.

Most people actually don't realize how much damage Carter did to the franchise over the years.

Give me a minute.....I'll get the list

Hopefully VC will get his.

I've said it before - if NJ doesn't start winning in a big way soon, the true nature of Carter will show. The old axiom in sports that says "sports doesn't build character, it reveals it" is so true of Carter.

Raptors fans farking loved this guy. Idiolized him. Even ignored his GMing while on the team as a player. This is where the true damage of VC's presence while a Raptor.

Let me see - as GM VC...

pushed management to resign Antonio Davis, Alvin Williams and Jerome Williams. He pushed for an aging Dream (Hakeem Olijuwon) to be signed. He pushed hard for Milt Palacio to be signed. And of course any decisions regarding VC's career had to go thru his mommy. Instead of building, he tore the team down from the inside. Instead of leading, he sulked with all these mysterious injuries.

Carter is a quitter. Period. He'll quit on the Nets too - too bad for Kidd. Carter cannot and will not take responsibility for his or his teams' actions. He desserted the Raptors 20 games in, no leadership, no heart.

As far as the booing - feel free! Carter cheated Raptors fans - cheated by a star crybaby who wanted things his way...and when it didn't turn well he did what ALL babies do - he went home crying to his mommy. Even when the team, under coach Mitchell; built a team of all offense and no defense to keep him happy, it wasn't enough. Specially when he admited he wasn't trying here the last 20 games.

So.....

I ask the fans. Welcome him back - with the boos he deserves. Yes he's scoring bucket loads...for now....but I suspect not for long.

I thought the NBA required that teams be in the city the night before the game and only under exceptional circustances (usually weather) do they allow them to fly in the morning of?

The fans will boo and that's fine but if I see anyone hug him before the game, I think they should boo that as well.

I think we should give the unexpected. Every time he touches the ball, get everyone to be so quiet that you could hear the crickets on TV. Booing him as loudly as it will be only shows how much people care. So long. I can't wait to see how long it takes to bail on NJ too.

I have a feeling that the raps will win and keep carter in the teens. There's too much pressure on him and he'll try to do it all himself. For the raps, this will be the first game in a long time that they'll have anything on the line. New jersey doesn't have any one that could match up with rose or bosh on offense and Mo knows what carter's game is. The only negative is that if if toronto wins, philly makes the playoffs meaning only one lottery pick.

It might be better if the place went totally silent when he has the ball. That might bother him more than anything.

However I have my doubts if Vince Carter actually cares what anyone else thinks.

Like many NBA players..overpaid.

They have become prima donnas in the worst sense. They don't play for a team they play for a career. If the team is losing they hold back hoping for a trade..and usually have a clause that allow's them to approve the trade.

Carters a good player...and he did do a lot of charity work while in Toronto. I have to believe a lot of that as his Mothers influence. Not sure if Vince would be parting with so much cash if Mom wasn't running the show behind the scenes. (Just a personal opinion)

Whether the crowds boo him..(and btw..who the hell is going to a raptors game now...why bother?)...or they sit in silence, Vince doesn't care. That's the awful truth. These guys have been pampered and made "exclusive human beings" since their college non-education.

Vince doesn't give a rats ass what people think. He'll give the media the quote they want ...he'll smile on command...he'll make the appearances, but he still thinks of one thing..his financial bottom line. It's a conditioned response. In his place..I'd more than likely make the same choice.

But that..is the NBA.

C'mon Rusty.

VC throw a punch?! His mommy maybe. But VC is too much of a pussy to actually throw a punch.

He might throw a tantrum but not a punch.lol

Hopefully someone will throw a sandwich at him which will cause Vince to run into the stands and punch a fan in the face. That would be awesome.
The problem with throwing a sandwich is that if it hits him, he won't make it to the stands - he'd keel over and roll around in agony in VINTAGE VIN-SANITY!

I think it would be better if Vince got the silent treatment. Everytime he touch the ball, the ACC would be dead silent, it would be pretty unnerving to him.....he expects BOOs but if it was dead silent....it would freak him out

Not acknowledging him would be a good revenge.....it would be payback for those times he said "who cares"

On top of what Carter did (playing GM) in making the teams future worse - he also didn't do the fans any favors when he left.

Babcock got the best deal he could for Wince.

Ask yourself this - if you were any GM - how much would you give up for a player who's always injured ( since 01 he's missed half the games), is a max contract player, who averages 15ppg and 6 assists, won't dunk and has his mommy for a manager.

I'm really surprised Babcock got anything for this clown.

I say he deserves what he gets tonight - he comes from a long line of bball children who wants theirs (TMac, Stoudamire, Francis - and what do they all have in common - so far, they're all losers).

I don't really know
Vc

I hope he puts on a good show with dunks and passes that we haven't seen before, since I will be at the game, then I hope we beat him and Boner takes him out like he took out Garnett.

It would almost guarantee Boner, legend status as a sports figure in T-dot

Maybe Boshee will reject his last minute attempt

or maybe dougie gilmour will charge at him and hit him with a hockey puck, now I'm just being silly

dougie dougie dougie, does anyone remember in game six when dougie...

Whether you love or hate this guy, we gave him and his 23 points a game away for nothing. The draft picks remain to be seen, but thats a crap-shoot anyways with b-ball draft players. This team would of been better with him, rather than without. Marquee players are few and far between and we had one. The "biggies" do't want to and won't come and play here. Why should they! The media and so-called educated fans eventually run the talent out of this city. I just love looking at the fans at Raptor's games. Fat white guys, who couldn't toss a crumpled peice of paper into a trash can. Good for them if they can afford the tickets, but they are not the real fans.

Good game Vince! Those 39 points shut the boo-birds up real good.

It always natural for sports fans to want to boo player a player who wanted to leave the team.

Look at Patrick Roy in Montreal...who was one of the best players from 1986 to 1996 and single handedly won Montreal 2 cups in 86 and 93...and fans still booed him when he came back to the Forum after being traded. Idiots.
