Apple loses ground to Android in tablet biz

Despite what Apple said at it's earnings call, it really is inevitable that Android will continue to chew up market share at a faster pace.

As OTB once said the only place for Apple to go with market share is down.

Yes, when you start with marketshare in the 90s there is only one way to go.

This is good news for the tablet business, it's clearly hit it's stride (when Apple sells more tablets than HP sells computers in Q4) despite the brainless predictions of a few here....

While all the other Android tablets were failures in the market I believe the Amazon Fire is, well, on fire... same ecosystem play, very differentiated offer (much lower price, lower functionality product), I bought one in Q4 for one of my nephews actually - he loves it.

Apple has succeeded in creating a new market and has dominant market share and profit share.... that they won't control it themselves is a good thing for Apple and the market.
