One of my neighbors gave me his 10 year old Apple iMac. Should I keep it or put it out for scavengers? (I'm more of a P.C. guy.)

So true. He didn't give me the keyboard and mouse and I don't have the nerve to ask him. Do iMacs use special keyboards and mouse?
They shouldn't need special keyboards and mice but who knows? Apple does a lot of 'funny' things to keep you captive. Perhaps our resident Mac salesman/blowhard nibs will chime in on this....:eyebrows:

Ditch it.
Why???
It's only 10 yrs old....FFS!
I have a 14+ yr old Pent II with 384 RAM, in the basement that still runs better than when it was new, running XP Pro and Ubuntu!

Surely a 10 yr old Mac should be superior in this regard!.....

I have a 12 year old Pent 3 with 256 RAM. Is it able to run XP (currently it's O/S is Windows 2000)?
WOW!!!
That's why it was soooo surprising to hear our resident Mac salesman/apologist, nibs say to ditch a 10 yr old Mac....FFS!
In the past nibs ALWAYS yapped how his 'superior' engineered Macs will easily outlast ANY PC!....

I never said anything like that. You're fantasizing once again.
LOL!
There ya go again nibs...you know denial isn't just the name of a river in Egypt!

You have said that MANY times in the past to justify paying double and triple for a Mac compared to a PC. You claimed Macs were better built, engineered and will outlast cheap PCs.....yapping the ole, "you get what you pay for".... line in defending Macs being soooooo pricey.....:D

Fine, go ahead, if I said it so many times then there must be a few posts on here, right? Let's see if you can prove it.

You should look up the iMac you received on everymac.com. You'll get all the info you need there. If there's anything unclear, ask away here.

cool, I remember those P3 CPU's, they look more like a console game cartridge heh! I read recently that P3 actually has true random number generator. wish I had known that when I had one, woulda been fun for programming random lotto numbers.

This kind of talk reflects your total ignorance of Apple computers, or computer technology in general.
