I would have thought them to be terrible. I know balmy beach is ALOT and there's this whole everyone helps everyone with their boat thing when it comes to putting them in and taking them out (Ok so I am not a team player I prefer to keep to myself) not sure about the bluffs, someone told me about one in pickering but than I forgot the name. I will check out ontario place thanks

What kind of boat? Length? sail or motor? Inboard or outboard?

Lots of possibilities. Island Yacht Club, Port Credit Marina, etc.

With better info come better suggestions.

Planning any incalls on the boat? :))

If you have a truck, consider trailering it instead, then you can go Lake Ontario, Georgian Bay, Lake Simcoe, etc. If it is not too big.

Ontario Place is noisy and a PITA to get in and out of with your gear and beer. Try Outer Harbour Marina. Not expensive, accessible, good slips w anything you need.

This is some boat! You will need a harbour license to use it on the Toronto waterfront. Means passing a test. Also some other licensing. You are looking at $$$ to get it into the water and taking it out again for storage in the winter.

Where you moor it should depend on what location is convenient for you. There are yacht clubs in Scarborough, for example, a couple on Toronto island, and one just opposite the island airport on the Toronto side of the western gap. Going a bit out of town, like Port Credit, might be cheaper.

Looks like you need a sugar daddy or really do some incalls on it :))

kyra you're too funny? Great pic btw
Party barges are nice summer fun. I noticed it does not say it comes with a motor or trailer. It can take up to 150HP motor but no mention of a motor. You can usually get a used one for a couple of grand or so. You will also need to get Coast Guard safety equipment as well as being required to have a PFD for each passenger and crew member. Here in the US you are required to have an anchor, too. I would also recommend at a minimum a hand held marine radio.
alos no mention of dock lines.

Boaters are people who work together. For the most part they understand that their marina community stays safe and secure because of the people they share it with. In most marina communities you will find a wealth of expertise and people willing to help. In all the time I have been in boating a few beers and maybe a hot lunch has been standard pay between boaters for help with projects.

Being a proud boat owner for many years, I've kept my boat at outer harbour (too fricken quiet but nice washrooms, and facilities, a pain if you have guests coming over), Bluffer's Park Marina (a REAL pain to get into and out of during hot summer weekends) Frenchman's Bay (dumpy place, very strick with noise but small town atmosphere) Ontario Place (as said, pita to get into and out of but so close to the harbour and in the midst of action)

One thing you will have to be careful of with that party barge: get any kind of wave action on Lake Ontario (and they get up to 10 FEET) and you won't be going anywhere.

As stated to go into the harbour you will need a harbour licence. You will also need a sea band two way radio with licence, and due to it's size, you will need a complete safety kit. Be careful which one you get, there are different requirements for different size vessels. Yes, you also need at least one anchor and (if I remember correctly) 150' of anchor line.

If addition, as stated, you'll need an approved PFD for everyone on board and if you take kids, you have to have one for each of them, and of the right size. You will also need various sizes depending on the size of the people on board. For eg: if you have a 6'2" guy and a 5' 2" lady, you can't just have all mediums. If and when you're stopped (and you WILL be) they'll check on this.

I used to run mine as a charter service and I had 15 pfds in various sizes and had a bunch of kiddie sizes too.

Be prepared: anything you buy marine oriented is priced at double what it would normally be. Plan on spending at least a grand, maybe two to properly outfit your craft. This includes 6 morring lines (each at least as long as your vessel), throw ring or other "tossable" item with a line, flares, fenders (you should have 3 for each side and of the proper size), a spare prop (especially if you're going to ever beach it), and many many other things.

Pricing at each marina is based on LOA and used to be around $30.00 per foot. This also applies to haul out, launching, and storage. My 30' usually costs about a grand or so to store for the winter.

Also, you will want to invest in a storage tarp (good quality), you could pay to have it shrink wrapped every year but that gets costly and is VERY eco UNfriendly.......

Anyhow, good luck!!!!

as a fellow boater I hope your a little more accurate with your navigation than this bulk of this post.

to point out tbevles comment Dodge does not make an F150 ford does though. I believe there is a place on Georgian bay called Balm Beech and yes it does get balmmy there in the summer, however if you plan on taking your boat to georgian bay proper navigation is really the key to keeping your repair bills down.

where ever you use your boat have fun. ( just don't anchor it for the weekend in front of my cottage)

Hey Cass: make sure you read the rules carefully, I believe you need two types of flares: starbrights and handheld, surface....(the starbrights let them know what area you're in, the surface guides them to you specifically).

I can't recall whether you need the smoke surface ones or not. They are great to have anyways as the breeze blows the smoke away from your boat and the helicopters or surface vessels can follow it right to you.

You know what they say "any port in a storm" heheheh

Funny story for you: the place where you dock a boat is called a slip. So when I bought my boat, I told people I needed a slip.....many of them were thinkin' "why does he need a frilly satin underwear thing for his boat"???

LMAO.....when I invited them down and I said "slip D39" they went OOOOHHH god it was funny.......*(#&(*& landlubbers lol

Adds another dimension to safe sex...you know, for when you do those calls on your boat. :D
