Well, I don't feel sorry for those people filling up today as they should have known better.

I knew that was most likely going to happen so I filled up a full tank on Wed at 1.04

Heaven, definately Heaven
Ironic. Gas and oil prices surged once Paul Wolfowitz was put in charge of the World Bank. Coincidence?

Vote LIBERAL and make them a majority again and gas will go down. Way down.

I suppose you're right Kacy.

How often do you fill up?

I should be filling up that often too. However a lot of my gas is wasted as of lately. Last weekend I drove to NF for someone who decided to turn me away at the door and not give me a cent for gas . A few days ago I had to argue with some dude in Trenton for a $40 cancel fee when he turned me away. I was not about to leave with nothing to cover my gas.
Well, that really sucks!

I can't believe they would turn you away just like that. Ouch!

All the way to NF, a full tank of gas and the afternoon lost! It does happen!
Well, I'm not one to do such a thing, but if I were to book an appointment with you Kacy, I would keep it because I like variety and if I had to cancel for any reason I would give you at least one full day's notice if not more.

But it's just plain rude for someone to have you drive out all the way to NF or Trenton and then turning you away at the door like that.

I'm sure those gentleman saw your pics and your slideshow so they knew what they were getting and perhaps you might have sent them face pics too.

But to turn you away like that, not cool.

Fucking outrageous. And the way the government deals with this is bullshit too.

Price of gas drives up the price of everything else. There is no clearcut way out of this hole, but cutting taxes at the pump isn't it.

The government needs to free up and provide incentive to new energies market. They need to look at alternate forms of energy. I hear nuclear power is safe these days.

They need to provide incentive for consumers to buy more fuel friendly cars. Electric, hybrid, whatever. You shouldn't penalize people who can still afford to buy SUV's with gas guzzler tax. Reward is always better than punishment.

Provide incentive to home owners to use solar panels or other personal energy techniques.

And they need to increase production of oil. The demand for energy is going to keep rising.

By providing relief to one market and adding incentives to another, we can see normal gas prices again. With competing energy markets, oil will have no choice but to drop their price to remain competitive.

Also US needs to pull out of Iraq yesterday. Their War Machine consumes to much oil.

Lately cottage country has been about the same price as Toronto, at least Parry Sound anyway.
They used to always be 10 cents a litre more, it's nice to see it more competitive up there.
Anyway, I find myself driving a lot less now because of prices - I'm always asking myself if it's important to go somewhere or if it can wait.

that is because the Khalsa gas station/convenience monopoly has spread its wings north and bought up a bunch of stations there... same thing in Wasaga.

Nice to see someone has figured out the solution.

I could only imagine what this could do to the boating/rv'ing industry...

alot of pleasure craft boats get under 2 mpg! and most rv's get under 8 mpg.

"From a dealers perspective.....I own a large gas station..... 14 pumps.... 26 years in business......8 employees.
On May 15th we listened to all the rhetoric being expoused about how boycotting the gas companies would bring them to thier senses and lower prices.
The boycott had no effect on us whatsoever, if anything with the added publicity, just the opposite. We were busier than normal this day.

The price was increased to us by 7 cents per litre within 24 hours of the boycott. The pricing which hovered around 1.18 jumped to 1.25 and is today sitting at 1.28 and climbing. We recieved news at noon today there is going to be a "significant cost increase" within the next week on the world market. This will I expect to have immediate price increases at our pumps to move upwards in the vicinity of 1.35 per litre, possibly higher.
If you think I'm kidding, predictions are to see 1.50 by the end of July. Will 6.00 per gallon be a reality, there is extremely good likelihood that it will be. We are closing in quickly on this number.

The gas companies we buy our fuel from leave us no option but to raise pump prices immediately if we are to offset these dramatic increases to us.

You may not like it, but it is the way it is and this time next year with the emerging patterns, 2.00 per litre priceing is not out of the realm of possibility. That's 8.00 per gallon folks. Your 5 gallon plastic container for your lawnmower will cost 40.00 to fill.

Our overhead is high but you the consumer will ensure we remain in business because no matter what you say or do, you need the commodity we sell. That is a fact that is irrefutable. You are married to your gas guzzlers and are not ready for the divorce that will inevitably come down the more and more expensive to travel road.
If you have any hope of seeing a lowering of pricing, petition the Canadian government to remove or lower the obscene fuel taxes. It is a huge part of the fuel pie we sell to you.

I do believe you will have a better chance of seeing hell freeze over first."
