Well I knew Randal was gonna win but there was a hint in the show that there might be two winners, that both Randal and Rebbecca would be hired. This indeed proved true when after Randal was announced "hired" Trump sat him and Rebecca back down and asked Randal if he should also hire Rebecca.

To my shock and horror he said no and totally sabotaged Rebecca. Why? It didn't effect him or his opportunity for Trump to also hire Rebecca. It was a horrible display of alpha-male tooth n claw competitiveness.

What an ass Trump is

I thought Trump put Randal in an awkward position. Its not Randals decision, Trump looked like an idiot to me tonight with that move. If i were Randal id have said "hey big fella its your company. You hired me because i was the best. If you want second best for your Casino thats your decision." Trump's a knob!!!

I agree. First off, I can't believe Randal stabbed Rebecca in the back like that... it was cold. IMO, they both deserved to win. Having said that, isn't it Trump's organization??? He makes the final decision - Randal offered only an opinion, which Trump could have vetoed. In addition, hiring both would have given people something to talk about, which could have the effect of increasing the show's ratings next season for it's unpredictability. Even though I like and respect The Donald, he made himself look like an idiot tonight - and on live television, no less!

I agree that Trump dropped the ball. Asking Randall to make that decision is ridiculous. Why should he share his win with her? Would the Tampa Bay Lighting choose to share the Stanley Cup with the Calgary Flame? Would the New England Patriots share their Superbowl win with the Philidelphia Eagles? Should Survivor winner Danni share her win with Stepheni? I think not.

Trump should follow his own rules and live with his tough decisions and not go back on them.

If I were Randal I would have said

"sure... let her take your NJ project.....we all know I'm the winner and I wont be on that project anyways... besides from a business standpoint it would be good for your organization"

Mercy is sometimes a good trait in a leader

At first I thought Randall was an idiot, but then I changed my mind. He knew he won fair and square and to also allow Rebecca to win lessens his victory. The story would be that there were 2 winners, not one. And that would mean Randall couldn't beat Rebecca. I totally see his point of view and I applaud him for standing up for himself. He played by the rules and he won. Trump shouldn't be making up new rules at the end of the game just so he doesn't have to make a tough decision. IMHO, Trump was made to look like a fool and I'll bet he'll never pull that stunt again.

I don't think he stabbed her in the back at all. He beat out 18 of his competitors with hard work and skill. It must take a lot of character to make it that far.

It was very unprofessional and tacky for Trump to put Randal on the spot on tv like that, but Randal stuck up for himself. Most people would have allowed Trump to walk over them, but Randal didn't.

I think the Donald was taken by surprise. I heard him ask Randall if he would hire Rebecca at this point...not necessarily make the decision. When Randall responded as he did....Trump did the only classy thing he could do at that point and let it ride.

Hell, he had pretty much telegraphed his intentions when they both picked different projects and he said that makes my job easier!

I think that this just reveals that the really classy, warm hearted leader that all his competitors saw was more of an act than anyone realized.
Got love New Yorkers!

My bet is that the cute 23 year old has a job today!

I really dont' see how?...?...?
Rebecaa grazed under the radar through the tasks, she wasn't GREAT.
The ankle thing was blown way out of proportion.
You're picked out of one million people, damn right you're gonna stick it through.
Randal's grandmother died, I'd have to say, death TRUMPS ankle.

No so much in the back ...more like stabbing right in her heart in public. But then Randal has all the right to do so, as he was asked of his opinion by Trump.

Rebecca may have the flare of a leader, and Trump may rehire her just to please the public, but most will agree that Randal out perform Rebecca fair and square, hence being chosen as the apprenitce.

My point being, Randal had already won. Everyone knew that he was the first choice for Trump's organization. I believe that Donald had already made up his mind to hire Rebecca as well. If I were Randal, I would have said, let Rebecca have the other project, since she was a very close second. Had she been competing against anyone else, I believe she would have won. I suppose the real blame lies with The Donald for asking Randal's opinion in the first place. He should have said, "you're both hired" right from the start. It's his show after all; If people don't like it, fuck them.

Randal was the winner. He was announced the Apprentice. But I also believe Trump felt Rebecca was good enough to have a role in his organization somewhere as well. I mean Christ, at 24 she rocks!

You notice how VERY aggressive Randal got to be near end? No more Mr. nice guy he didn't hesitate one second to attack Rebecca and diminish her abilities. When he told Trump to not hire Rebecca it was pure ego talkin. He wanted not just the throne but no one else even near his side.

I think Trump believed Randal would support Rebecca and was suprised when he didn't.

No doubt Randall deserved to win, but when Randall recommended Trump not hire Rebecca, it showed no class. If I was Trump I woulda fired his ass on the spot and hired Rebecca.

Trump looked like an idiot BECAUSE of Randall. That egomaniac couldn't take a cue from the Donald if it was stuck up his a$$. Betcha he's gone before the year is up.

Quite the contrary. Randall showed he was an alpha male that wasn't going to take the easy way out. He stuck to his guns and called Trump on the rules of the game; something nobody else had the balls to do.

Whether or not he sticks with Trump, Randall proved he's the better man and, IMO, can do better than Trump's organization (which isn't all that grand when you think about it).

Trump got kicked in the sack twice this season. Once with Randall at the end, and once when Tora (sp?) said the only reason she's on the show was b/c Trump wanted highly successful people to make him look good and that she couldn't care less if she got the job or not as she was only there for the promotion. How's them apples Mr. Trump?

I re-watched that portion of the show after it was pointed out in one of the other threads that Alla and Felisha were shaking their heads when Donald was asking the question (I missed that the first time). I noticed that several of the others also approved of Randal's decision.

Before the actual, live decision, Randal state emphatically that he was determined to be "the one and only" apprentice. He outperformed Rebecca, felt he was better, and wanted a clear first place.

The question posed by Trump was tantamount to: Do you think you deserve first place alone, or does Rebecca deserve to be your equal?

Randall felt he won first place, why should he share it after all that hard work? Did Trump ask Bill whether he should hire Kwame when he won? He never asked any of the other previous winners. Randal was arguably the strongest apprentice to date. The man won, why take away from his well-deserved victory? And to put him on the spot like that was classless.

It was unfair of Trump to even ask Ranal, but Randal had the courage to stand up for himself. Of course, he knew it would be crowd-pleasing and "gracious" to recommend that he hire Rebecca as well, but this would only water down his victory, something that he worked so hard for, and deserved.

What does it take to be at the very top? Whether it's sports, academics, or businees, it takes a lot of determination, talent, and competitiveness. And he demonstrated that till the very end.
