I am having a client dinner on the weekend. I asked if he had a food preference and he replied 'brains'. I don't want somewhere as crammed as the Black Hoof. Any foodies out there who can make a suggestion?

Reading the title I was going to recommend Becky (best brains in town , however getting increasingly harder to book) But now I see your literally looking for brains.

Wish I could be of more help other than reiterating whet someone above said. East beaver creek is the spot to eat brains.

If from europe i doubt that your European friend would be looking for a chinese restaurant. he is likely looking for something like au pied de cochon in montreal or similar here , i dont know of a similar place here but we are getting closer style places now w some of the younger chefs .

If you have the budget, Id call up Via Allegro and ask them if they could prepare a meal for you . They have the atmosphere, style and chefs to pull together something funky like offal or brains or balls ... http://www.viaallegroristorante.com

In France, they like calf's brains.
Calves' brains in black butter used to be a standard menu item in the Hungarian places on Bloor west of Spadina before the Mad Cow Scare. Sadly the places and their menu option are both gone.
