As a regular visitor from the Netherlands I've enjoyed dozens of Toronto's finest over the last 15 years, mainly because of this AWESOME forum. I was planning a new trip next winter but only now I see that Canadian borders are completely closed for non-Canadians....

Anyone have any info on when they'll re-open? I'm vaccinated! :)

Regards
Frank

Apparently they don’t know lab to reopen until 75% of Canadians are fully vaccinated. I believe we are currently at 5% lol

Buffalo will become a waste land without us.

It always has been a waste land.
Yes but even more so now. I read that they have lost millions due to the boarder being closed and many businesses are closed for good now.

It’s probably going to be like how San Fran and parts of LA are now where people driving through will have to speed through the street in order to avoid getting robbed or assaulted.

Its evolving at a regular pace. Its all about case counts and vac rates. We could be looking at 70+% vac rate by Sept. Maybe higher.

On the other hand new variants are the wildcard. September I expect things will be a lot more clear.

By the end of this month there should be something in the way of guidelines beyond kicking the can down the road every month....

Well the border really isn't closed for non-Canadians.
There is a protocol you have to follow to gain entry. Being vaccinated is irrelevant for now.

Yeah, well, it kinda is.... If you follow the site and see the protocol, the only way to get in is if you have a really really really good reason..... Like your Canadian grandmother is dying or if you provide essential medical equipment etc... And seeing Toronto sexworkers is not on that list.... :)

Now that would be good news.... hoping they'll re-open soon after that. Or allow vaccinated people, which would make a lot of sense...

Thanks for your reply!

I think the Canadian and Uk media are the only ones globally wanted to keep everyone locked down. Enough already. Let’s get out. This is no way to live. In the last two years I have not know anyone get COVID. I have know 3 people get cancer. One of them died. Being born in a cause of death. We are not guaranteed to live a long life. We did the right thing until now since we didn’t know what we were dealing with. But it’s not a long term plan. Let’s get out already.

As I mentioned in another thread, the Toronto/Buffalo Blue Jays are playing in front of limited fans, and doing very well. One more reason to reopen the Peace Bridge...
