I went in January. First time there, first time in Asia. Had a blast. Went to Bangkok and Pattaya. If you just want sex and partying, Pattaya is the place. IF you want sex and a bit of tourism, Bangkok. I only stayed a couple of days in Pattaya, and 2 weeks in bangkok (BKK)
Phuket's got better beaches than pattaya and bkk(which doesn't have any). I found the beach in Pattaya to be dirty. Maybe I was in the wrong spot. Theres a spot in the southern part of pattaya that has nice beaches. I forgot the name, but its a bit cleaner apparently (as per my new friend in bkk). Only problem is that there arent many beer bars or gogo bars, so thats why i didnt stay at that part of pattaya.
Phuket is a pricier part of the country. It is it's own island, but the beaches are fantastic. If u can eat the local street thai food, u can save more money.
I found there to be more ladyboys/katooeys in Pattaya, especially at night along the beach on Beach rd. walking by, seeing tall slender (questionable) women, with deep voices murmuring in the background is quite the disturbing and intriguing exerience. But hey, if that is your cup of tea, i am not a hater, to each his or her own.
Walking Street in Pattaya is something any John like ourselves needs to see.
That and Nana Plaza in Bangkok.
if u r not a ladyboy partaker, keep your guards up. My advice: better to pass up something thats TGTBT, than to later realize she once had a giant cack. Look for the signs and do some training before you go.
