Francisco de Goya was traumatized by the Napoleonic War in Spain. Prior to that he had been a court painter to the Spanish Bourbons Royal Family. His Black Paintings and Horror of War drawings were not initially meant to be viewed by the public. Now one of his most disturbing works has finally seen the gloomy light.
Federico Castellucci spent $72,000 buying and restoring the Guercino's St Sebastian. The painting has been appraised at $10,000,000.
