sadly I have not found many legit offers on CL in Barrie. if there is not a phone number posted I would say there is a 90% chance it is a fake or an attempt to get your cc number.

just curious . . . has anyone actually provided a cc number to a listing on CL?

Would be interesting to see what happened if anything

if it was not working (to some degree) for the poster they would not continue to post . . . would they?

anyone willing to admit they gave it a try?

Meaning you go ahead and give your cc number to a listing on cl and let me know what happens. With having my identity and personal info stolen once before I'm pretty cautious as to who get my cc number.

As for this add -- it's been over 24 hours since I sent my email with no response. Blueman's orignal thought looks correct -- scam.:mad:

I would not suggest you give them a cc number. I am asking if someone has without realizing this is likely a scam. If they did what happened?

Wow ! thefrst and I got identical emails. I emailed two ladies advertising in Barrie's Craigslist and got almost identical responses. This one "Vanessa" http://barrie.craigslist.ca/ers/583564130.html ...
appears to be from Denver and asked for the "FEV ID" check which I want no part of. Another lady who has the B&W negative photo appeared to be from Montreal and also wanted the damn FEV ID crap. Pissed me off cause it's hard to find an incall up there and I got my hopes up. BTW I emailed both of them Sunday AM for an early evening appt. and one got back to me Sunday about 8pm and the other replied today at 4pm ... not too swift on the service side of things considering they say 24/7.

It doesn't look so much like an effort to "steal" your CC number as much as to charge you for "memberships" which you may not want.

You get a "free trial membership" to some porn thingy. This is from their terms and conditions:
The Customers' memberships will be automatically renewed for the relevant rebilling period corresponding to each individual membership upon expiration of such period, unless the Service Provider is notified 7 days prior to membership expiration. In the event of a trial membership offered by the Service Provider which renews to a full membership 72 hours after sign-up, the Customer must cancel the membership within that 72 hour trial period by following the instructions at the processor. In order to avoid the membership converting into a full membership and the Customer being charged the relevant rebilling membership fee. The Customer acknowledges that if the Customer has elected to commence a free trial the Customer may be subject to a pre-authorization associated with the credit card information provided by the Customer.

Which means 1) If you don't cancel, you get charged for whatever they consider a "billing period" ($37 and change/month) and 2), even if you cancel it, their info. will show up on your bill (suspicious spouse may have a problem with that).

"Free" never really means free.
