With Carter getting ready to sign with Vancouver, it appears, that the Leafs are getting close to a trade.
Carter was put through a physical by the Leafs, and contract talks were held. The Leafs were holding out because of ongoing trade talks. My thinking here, is that the Leafs may have informed Carter that they are going in another direction.
There is talk of Cujo signing with Phoenix, if that does happen, then the Leafs will most definately be staying with Eddie between the pipes. I personally think that is by the smartest move, since I believe Cujo is no where near the goalie he was. Cujo is a relex goalie. One who flops. With the age and the injuries he has suffered in recent years, he has lot alot of his speed reflexes. Eddie, on the other hand, plays a positional type of goalie. He plays the angles, and controls the rebounds. Age is not such a great factor for a goalie who plays this style.
