There was a cop in Toronto who was paid for more than a few years while they investigated whether or not he went to strip joints on duty. I believe he was even (alleged) to have pulled his gun out on one of the dancers while he was intoxicated. I think they ended up paying him off to leave the force and he kept the pay and kept his pension.

The problem is we let them get away with it. This union is being paid by the public.

Just today there are 2 Peel cops who were suspended with pay until SIU investigation completed. Why can't a cop get fired outright?
They will publish your name without delay if there is ANYTHING you are suspected of. Once published, you can't get your reputation back even if found not guilty. An of course, you WILL get fired.
But never the cops. They always go back to their regular jobs.
