As long as there is foreign invasion and occupation there will be an insurgency. Someone else will fill his spot.
Just saw the movie "Red Dawn" on Spike TV the other day. The Russians were the invaders and occupiers and the Americans fighting back were the insurgents. I guess that makes the Americans terrorists. :D

I could care less about those wanna-be
insurgents in Iraq.

You keep taking your eye off the main prize.
Get OBL. GET IT, Langeweile.
They are all part of the same group of jerks, so when one dies a part of the whole dies. OBL is like all vicious killers, a coward that hides in the dark - take away his support and he becomes less meaningful. The main prize is the organisation as a whole not in part GET IT DonQuixote

May I assume your statement excludes the +/- 100,000 civilian collateral damage in Iraq..

I understood D.Q.'s comment to refer to OBL and al Qaeda in general.

I got it a long time ago. There is no organization.
Not like we're used to dealing with. There used to
be an organization and OBL was the kingpin holding
it together.

Its now a movement that anyone can join.
Its a methodology and an ideology. Are you
suggesting OBL is influencing the insurgents in
Iraq? Are you suggesting we are weakening Al Quida
by being in Iraq?

Al Quida is not a military force, nor is it a guerilla force
nor is it a unified body. Its a political movement that
is also a militant religious movement.

As long as OBL is alive he is a symbol of successfully
attacking the US. He is their ultimate success story and
he has escaped the mighty power of the US. As long as
he's alive we, the US, is perceived to be weak.
Ditto...nice summary D.Q. Most intel suggests that OBL is haning out in the mountains between Pakistan and Afg. One would think that with a war chest of 200 billion dollars allocated to 'the war on terror', they would have nailed him by now... mind you...there was that Bush family vendetta and the Israeli need for a regime change in Iraq...it's really just a matter of priorities..

Get OBL, get real

Assuming the State was, or could possibly be, irrational enough to expend all its resources on bringing one man to justice, could somebody indicate how exactly they'd go about getting him out from whatever cave or spider-hole it is that he's hanging out in.

Well Truncy Team 'W's STATE didn't seem to have any problems doing exactly that in regards to SADDAM and SADDAM had NOTHING TO DO WITH 9/11!!!!!

It is mind boggling that Osama is still free after all these years!!!

Of course, rumor has it, the real reason for Osama Bin Laden not being captured to date is that the powerful Bin Laden family of Saudi Arabia, who BTW is even more politically well connected than the Bush Dynasty here in the USA, sent word to Team 'W': Leave Osama alone and let him be or suffer the consequences!!!!

Another blind apologist post from the Bush league ivory tower.. try special forces, seals etc…that’s their job. Let’s see…one man orchestrates the destruction of the most important financial symbols of the world’s superpower, kills 3,000 people, springboards the nation's airline industry into bankruptcy, precipitates the invasion of a sovereign nation which is unconnected, drives the price of oil to double the cost, and declares war on the nation…but he’s in the mountains…and they can’t get him…it’s too difficult… Ok…contract the job out to the Swiss army. Done.

Al-Qaida nukes already in U.S.

While surfing I ran into this story.... i'd like to see a poll on this board as to the likelihood of this being true....

....and what will he be if he is a martyr? Give me a break - the more you kill of his followers the less relevant he becomes.
He is a symbol no matter what. I say kill him if you can, but kill as many of his followers as you can during the interim.

make sure it is canned salmon...this might be a long nuclear winter..as predicted by Sagan..or was it global warming?
Cloverleaf Sockeye, the only canned salalmon worth buying.

I would imagine in the case of such a horrendous event, the nuclear winter would occur only if the US released its arsenal …or the Ruskys for that matter…

Whew…grim scenario in any case. I would imagine if this was set in motion the deep winter would be the time…say right about mid January. Knowing how twisted OBL is, Christmas eve would be a more likely time..
