Most likely people haven't heard of the oneplus one phone. It has been available for a few months based on an 'invitation' system but is having its wide release Monday.
It's an interesting idea. First it's a spin off of a Chinese company who has decided to enter the fray. Their idea is to release an extremely competitive phone at essentially cost as a way of building their name. Component wise the phone is top of the line but most interesting is the OS. They chose to work with cyogenmod, a common version of android to deliver the UI. The mod lets users to make significant customizations to their phone to maximize performance to their desires and getting rid of features they don't want.
Phone site, review, and benchmarks.

Reviews have found some tweeks that are needed but the performance seems to be up there with its competitors and at at $300-$350 off contract may be worth some people's consideration.
