Dear gentlemen,
After 16 rich, intense, and deeply human years, I am preparing to turn an important page in my life.
For some time now, the idea of retirement had been gently making its way into my thoughts. I had been preparing for it quietly for nearly a year. And then life, with its movements, transitions, and meaningful encounters, came to confirm that the right moment is now.
I will officially retire on June 30, 2026.
Between now and then, a transition period is beginning. I am already very limited in my availability and will only be accepting one or two meetings per month, carefully selected, with a preference for simple, human moments, often in the spirit of social connection or lighter intimacy.
June 30 will mark the beginning of the closure of my visibility platforms, as well as a reduction of my website, which will remain online for a while as a gentle trace of my journey.
After that date, my Bluesky account and email will remain active for a time, to keep a thread, for references, or for rare social or special meetings. Bluesky will close by the end of 2026, and my email will follow at the end of 2027.
But beyond all of this logistics, what I feel today is something much greater.
It is an immense wave of gratitude.
Sixteen years.
Sixteen years of discoveries, exchanges, and confidences.
Sixteen years of meeting the human being in what is most real, most vulnerable, most beautiful.
Many of you have trusted me. You opened yourselves. You shared pieces of your lives, your questions, your desires, and even your silences. I have witnessed so many stories, journeys, and transformations.
And I have received… so very much.
Words of appreciation.
Gestures of respect.
Support, often unexpected.
A form of love, in all its diversity.
This work has deeply transformed me. It taught me to see differently, to feel differently, to welcome without judgment. It allowed me to grow, to open myself, to understand.
And what can I say about our community. Yes, it is a unique environment. But it is also a space of exceptional human richness.
I think back to the laughter, the endless conversations, the suspended moments.
To the restaurants, the travels, the hotels, the unique experiences.
And also to the simple moments, just being there, together, without pressure, without performance.
Because for me, from the very beginning, it was never about performance.
It was about experience.
About presence.
About connection.
I moved through your lives like a breeze, sometimes gentle, sometimes invigorating, but always with the intention of being fair, genuine, and kind.
And today, a certain nostalgia fills me. That of leaving behind these fragments of shared intimacy. These moments that belong only to us.
To those for whom I was, at one time or another, the right choice, once, occasionally, or regularly, thank you.
Thank you for your trust.
Thank you for your humanity.
Thank you for what we created together, in our own way.
I leave this chapter with a full heart. I want to live differently.
I continue my path carrying what you have given me. Being Roxanne Valois has shaped a significant part of who I am. Or perhaps… it’s the other way around.
With respect and gentleness,
Roxanne XOX
